Platform Manager (f/m/d)

Leiden | Full-time | April 2026

We are looking for a Platform Manager to join our team in Leiden to be part of the team managing our online platforms. You will act as a technical product owner for our account management and usage reporting systems, working closely with internal teams and external providers. In this role you will also be responsible for our upcoming user and entitlement data migration projects from legacy platforms to degruyterbrill.com. Additionally, you will support the platform team to maintain and further develop our online platforms.

Your tasks

  • Technical product ownership of access management and usage reporting systems on our various platforms, which includes maintaining and managing the further development of our internal systems, cooperation with internal teams (Sales Operations, Sales) and external partners
  • Point of contact for COUNTER reporting questions and compliance issues, as well as specific customer access issues for example concerning Shibboleth / SAML or proxy access.
  • Preparation and implementation of user and entitlement migration from legacy platforms to degruyterbrill.com
  • Support of the platform team for example with user testing for deployments, ticket and request management.

Your profile

  • At least 3+ years of professional experience in a comparable position in scientific publishing or in a library dealing with the management of electronic resources.
  • High affinity for IT topics and agile software development, including the use of AI tools
  • Understanding of XML / HTML, JSON 
  • Optional: knowledge in scripting languages such as Python, and using APIs for migrating large amounts of data
  • Advantage: Knowledge of COUNTER Code of Practice and access methods for electronic content (IP authentication, Proxy Servers, SAML/Shibboleth); ideally knowledge of access management systems for publishing platforms
  • Project Management experience
  • Practice in dealing with external service providers
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Very good English skills are a prerequisite, Dutch or German would be a plus
