Manager Journal Publishing Infrastructure (f/m/d)

Globally | Full-time | As soon as possible

The strategic core of this role is to steer the improvement of journal infrastructure and workflows, automate tasks, and contribute to the standardization within Journal Operations. We are seeking a professional to streamline our processes and manage the implementation of changes that are crucial for long-term improvements. This position reports to the Head of Journal Suppliers and System Infrastructure. This is a fixed-term position for two years. You can work from Germany, the Netherlands, the UK, Poland, Ireland, France, India, China, Hong Kong, Singapore or the US.

Your tasks

  • Process governance of the journal publication processes
  • Process (re-)design and execution of implementation in collaboration with all relevant departments and stakeholders
  • Process documentation and knowledge management
  • Providing consultation on best-in-class solutions
  • Identification of challenges in the processes and assistance with the implementation of alternative solutions

Your profile

  •  At least 4 years of relevant experience (e.g. publishing systems, journal peer-review and/or production workflows)
  • Extended knowledge about publication processes in academic publishing
  • Project management experience
  • Experience in cross-departmental projects and process/project (change-)management
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with process design, documentation, and/or process optimization
  • Working knowledge of XML and its application in publishing workflows
  • Excellent English language skills
