Journal Outreach Manager – Medicine and Life Sciences

This role contributes to the growth of our Open Access journals portfolio. In your role as Journal Outreach Manager – Medicine and Life Sciences, you will be responsible for supporting OA journals in medicine and life sciences in expanding they reach and impact. You will be proactively building the relationships with stakeholders – editors, authors, reviewers and potential readers, managing and overseeing the development of these journals to deliver sustained growth. It is a customer facing relationship management position, working with academics and societies. This is a permanent position.

Your tasks

  • Support the growth of OA journals in Medicine and Life Sciences.
  • Build and manage relationships with editors, authors, reviewers, and academic partners.
  • Drive submissions and journal visibility through outreach and promotion.
  • Monitor performance and support editorial strategy.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth journal operations.
  • Represent journals at academic events and conferences.
  • Stay informed on trends in Open Access publishing

Your profile

  • An academic degree (preferably in the relevant field), PhD will be an asset
  • Networking and effective collaboration with researchers worldwide
  • Previous experience managing or developing journals
  • Thorough understanding of editors’ and authors’ needs in their publishing activities, specifically open access
  • Outstanding communication and organizational skills, particularly with regard to meeting deadlines and prioritizing tasks
  • Experience in academic teaching or research will be a plus
  • Professional computer skills (standard office software)
  • Excellent written and spoken English is essential
