Payroll Specialist/Application Administrator (f/m/d)

Leiden| Parttime (80%) | 1 January 2025 or soon after

De Gruyter Brill is seeking a Payroll Specialist/Application Administrator to support the HR Team in Leiden. Main focus will be executing all payroll processes and be the main point of contact for the HR system, both for colleaques and the support company for the HR system. 

Your tasks

  • Management of the entire payroll process for our operations in the Netherlands, ensuring accurate and timely salary payments in compliance with local laws and regulations.
  • Overseeing payroll processes for the USA and Asia branches.
  • Handling and providing of employee benefits, such as healthcare, life insurance, pension schemes and bonus programms, ensuring they are all accurately reflected in payroll and met all legal requirements.
  • Calculation and documentation of bonus agreements,
  • Be main point of contact in respect to questions/problems with HR system for both colleaques and external supporting company. 

Your profile

  • A completed commercial training or degree in a relevant field.
  • Recent knowledge and experience in payroll accouting, ideally in Afas and Salure payroll software and/or SAP, as well as in tax and social security law.
  • Good communication skills in Dutch (B1 level) and English (C1 level), combined with a high degree of service orientation.
  • Investigating and persistent mind set.
  • Very good knowledge of Dutch Labor law and the relevant legislation.
  • Interest and ability to dive deep into technical issues of HR Systems.
  • Flexible, strong organizational and problem solving skills, with ability to meet deadlines.
  • Open minded.
  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills.
  • Goal and results oriented.
