YOUR TASKS
- Strategic development and international alignment of our Mathematics and Computer Sciences portfolio in close coordination with our Vice President Publishing for STM
- Acquisition of a publication portfolio (books, book series, electronic resources) in Mathematics and Computer Sciences with a focus on the U.S. market
- Expansion and fostering of academic and professional networks with authors, editors, societies, research institutes and companies in the industries
- Budget responsibility for project signings and output toward achieving economic objectives
- Representation of the department at international academic conferences and industry fairs
- Close collaboration with our editorial office, production, marketing, and sales teams
As part of our Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STM) division, our editorial department continuously develops the digital and print titles portfolio of first-class specialist literature. In your role, you will be responsible for the acquisition of new outstanding publication projects. The position on offer foresees an unlimited contract.
YOUR PROFILE
- Ideally a Master’s degree or a PhD in Mathematics (pure or applied), Computer Sciences or related subject
- Professional experience is a plus
- Network in the according communities
- Strong focus on acquisitions and demonstrated interpersonal and communicational abilities
- An good knowledge of the market and a strong interest in different publishing forms
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
